Learning...

This year has been awesome for me in terms of learning new things. I've started sculpting human faces and I've made quite some progress, so I'm proud of myself. I've also started my Etsy store and I'm trying to figure that out too. I hope I will be as inspired this year as the next and wish you all a Happy New Year!

These are my latest things that I am really proud to share with whoever is reading my blog.

Overseer

This is not new but it's among the latest sets I've made. It's a biopunk inspired set called Overseer. I've made this using crystals, polymer clay, resin and copper. I had so much fun making it, I would love to make another with different colors but I haven't figured out what combinations I would like to use. As I mentioned in another post, I'm inspired by cyberpunk lately, especially biotechnology and I hope this really reflects my current obsession. Another obsession I have nowadays is marine life, especially fossils, but I'll talk about that in another post as some of my creations haven't been cured yet.

Bohemian Necklace

I don't even know what I've been working on lately, with Christmas coming, Halloween and a few personal problems, things have been a mess. But fortunately, I have time to write on my blog now, which makes me pretty happy. So let's get on with it.

I was feeling bohemian a few weeks ago after I had a few orders that featured flowers and colors and all that nice stuff, so I made a custom listing on Etsy that for these types of statement pendants.

As you can see the pendant is pretty big. I do have child hands but it's 7.5 cm or 3 inches in diameter. What's the purpose of a colorful lovely and bohemian pendant if you can't see it?

So, I'm leaving you guys with that bohemian necklace and getting back to my binge watching of TV shows and working on a special order.

Sculpted face brooches

These were made about two months ago but I haven't had time to post them.
I've been trying to create a more realistic face for quite some time now, and although I need improvement, I think I managed to create something that resembles the human face. I don't like the blue haired one though, I think I'm gonna skip the flowers next time.

Alien Inspired Necklace

I had an Alien marathon this weekend and I got really inspired so I created this cyberpunk-ish necklace. I'm still learning and I've been researching cyberpunk for a long time now, hoping to make more jewelry inspired by the genre. This was made with clay, resin, suede, silver plated wire and other metallic parts.

Queen of Hearts and Girls with Flowers

This was just something that I really did not plan. I sculpted the face and then I decided I didn't like how she looked, pretty plain tbh. So I started painting her and got inspired by Alice in Wonderland. I made the Queen of Hearts. She looks a bit crazy but I guess that's the whole idea.

These are just 2 pins I sculpted. I really like how simple they are, although they were not at all simple to make, the hair is such a nuisance. I really like the way I made some of the roses but I hate that I never make them all in the same style. I guess that's pretty amateur-ish

Anachronism Part 2

Here are some other items from my collection, mostly inspired by nature. However, after I finished this collection I got really inspired by some games I've been playing like Technobabylon, Gemini Rue or, perhaps the first cyberpunk game I played, System Shock. Anyway, along with some Alien-esque themes, I will be adding part of that collection in the future.

But here's this collection. I has been a darker period in my life so I think it kinda transcends in what I make.

Anachronism. Misplaced in Time.

I'm so excited about my new collection. I know that few people read my blog, and I'm not very good at keeping it updated. However, I wanted to talk more about this project of mine.

I have been sculpting for some time now, I still make the cute and kawaii stuff I usually do, but I always wanted to sculpt figurines so I'm going towards that now. I know the things I make are a little rough but I hope I will get better;  they do seem better than the ones I used to do and even throughout this collection you can see that my style improves. I will add another piece every day, as it is ready because I want to take time on each.

I don't know what to say about this particular collection other than the fact that it has been quite a journey for me. I feel now that I have a sense of direction in my shy pursuit for art.

I used a lot of metallic colors and a lot of geometric shapes. I wanted it to be a bit gritty and a bit romantic; I also wanted a bit of sadness and tragedy to transcend from my pieces.

I don't know where I'm heading yet, but this is an interesting journey I am about to explore even more.

Abigail Zodiac

I decided I should do a zodiac with my little princesses. So far I did about 5 pendants, I didn't have time to take pictures of the entire batch because 2 of them sold almost immediately. However, I did managed to take pictures of these three cute little pendants.

Btw, I'm also having a giveaway, you can win your own zodiac pendant, custom made to reflect you, along with a surprise gift. Just check out my Facebook Page.

But back to the pendants. I used a brass base and a brass chain for each of them. They are made with resin, polymer clay and painted with acrylic paint.

More Cats!

It's cat season so I made more cats and have a lot more prepared to post. Here are two adorable cats for people who like their cats with unusual colors. So we have a neon green cat, a dark green cat and a pink one. Aren't they adorable?

Simple Stud Earrings

I wanted to make some simple stud earrings so I came up with these flowery things. I will certainly make some more because they were so much fun to make. I love the fact that they seem quite simple from the distance but very intricate when someone comes closer.

Tiny Brooch

I made this cute little girl brooch for a summer outfit. I wanted to use a lovely shade of blue and I really like the dark yellow I used for her hair. She reminds me of a Disney princess or a pixelated character from a retro game.

Lilac cat

I made this lilac cat for myself, I needed something colorful and having made so many cats lately I just wanted to have one myself. I enjoy making these cats and since I've started making them, they have suffered quite an improvement.

Spring!

It's almost spring, the sun barely tickles the naked branches but it's getting there.....I was inspired by a lovely lady wanting something flowery so I made this.

Friday, February 20, 2015

I haven't done a lot of things lately mostly because I have been working on larger projects. But I've made a few girl pendants that I really love. For example this one, I like the simple dress and her look a lot. I wanted her to be simple in terms of technique and style.

Totoro

totoro, jewelry, brooch,

Totoro brooch, polymer clay

I used to love writing more on my blog, now I just can't find the inspiration. Besides, my blog is pretty lonely right now, I'm not sure that people are actually reading it. I really try to stay focused and post something new every day but with everything going on it can be quite difficult. So I never manage. Anyway, here's a Totoro brooch. Kawaii!
